Lake Champlain rests in the valley between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Lake Champlain is a large body of fresh water, approximately 490 square miles in area, and has a maximum depth of approximately 400 feet. Lake Champlain is located at the frontier between Abenaki and Mohawk traditional territories. Its aboriginal name is “Pitawbagok”, meaning ‘lake in between’. This print is a view of the Burlington Boathouse looking west across the lake to New Yorks Adirondack Mountains.
